* UPDATE * Eagles injury report: Jalen Carter, Landon Dickerson out of practice; updates on Darius Slay, Mekhi Becton, Dallas Goedert

UPDATE: Defensive tackle Jalen Carter (shoulder) and guard Landon Dickerson (knee) weren’t just given rest days Wednesday. They were both out because of injuries that did not prevent them from playing the full game Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Dallas Goedert (hamstring) and Darius Slay (groin) also did not practice. Guard Mekhi Becton (concussion) was listed as a limited participant and tight end Albert Okwuegbunam (abdomen) was a full participant.
The Jacksonville players out of practice Wednesday were offensive linemen Ezra Cleveland (ankle) and Brandon Scherff (knee). Players limited in practice were running back Tank Bigsby (ankle), wide receiver Gabe Davis (shoulder), running back Travis Etienne (hamstring), defensive tackle Maason Smith (ankle), wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (chest), and safety Andrew Wingard (knee).
PHILADELPHIA — The Eagles returned to the practice field in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and it appears as if they could be without three of their starters.
The player most likely to return against the Jags is right guard Mekhi Becton, who sat out Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals after suffering a concussion in the Eagles’ Week 7 win over the New York Giants. Tyler Steen did an admirable job filling in for Becton, who has missed time in three different games this season, and he was getting reps at left guard Wednesday as Landon Dickerson sat out with a knee injury.
Becton, however, was back on the practice field Wednesday.
The same could not be said for tight Dallas Goedert and cornerback Darius Slay.

Goedert went down with a hamstring injury just three snaps into the Eagles’ game against the Browns and has not been on the practice field since. The Eagles opted not to put the veteran tight end on injured reserve in the hope he would not have a prolonged absence, but he could be about to miss his third straight game. Grant Calcaterra has started in his place and played the most productive football of his career, catching eight passes for 130 yards in the Eagles’ last three games.
Slay, meanwhile, has not played a full game since Week 2. He had been dealing with an injury to the same knee he had surgically repaired late last season, but Sunday against the Bengals he left the game with a groin injury. He was not on the practice field Wednesday. Isaiah Rodgers has done an outstanding job replacing Slay and he created a turnover in the win over the Bengals by deflecting a Joe Burrow pass to safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson for an interception.
They already know that left tackle Jordan Mailata will miss his third straight game as he recovers from a severe left hamstring injury that placed him on the injured reserve list. Mailata suffered the injury in the Eagles’ Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns and he will not even be eligible to return until the team’s Thursday Nov. 14 game against the Washington Commanders. In all likelihood, Mailata’s absence will stretch beyond that game.
Fred Johnson has started in place of Mailata and, after a rough outing in Week 7 against the New York Giants, he played exceptionally well Sunday against Cincinnati Bengals three-time Pro Bowler Trey Hendrickson. The Eagles did not allow a sack in the game and Hendrickson managed just two pressures.
Wide receiver/punt returner Britian Covey, on IR with a fractured shoulder blade, is eligible to return Sunday, but is likely to miss more time. He was working off to the side with trainers Sunday.
In other news, the Eagles signed offensive lineman Braeden Daniels to their practice squad. Daniels, 6-4 and 300 pounds, was a fourth-round pick by the Commanders in 2023, but he has never appeared in a game. Since being drafted, he has spent time with Washington, Houston and the Los Angeles Chargers. Daniels replaces defensive tackle Siaki Ika, who was released from the practice squad Tuesday.
The 2-6 Jaguars will be without No. 2 receiver Christian Kirk, who suffered a fractured collarbone during the team’s Week 8 loss to Green Bay. Jaguars coach Doug Pederson said Wednesday he thinks No. 2 running back Travis Etienne (hamstring) and No. 3 receiver Gabe Davis (shoulder) should be ready to play.
